I welcome you to the MAK – Grants Administration and Management Support Unit website.

Since December 17, 2024, GAMSU was mandated by a University Council policy to support grant acquisition and compliance at Makerere.

We facilitate staff and faculty in securing and managing grants. We provide wide-ranging services to assist in navigating the grant cycles.

We offer a range of services which include;

• Preaward: We support researchers to find funding opportunities and assist in application.
• Award and Post Award: From inception to completion, we offer support in managing projects effectively and efficiently.
• Post Award and close out: Reporting and Compliance
• Training: Through workshop sessions to boost Principal Investigator’s grant skills – writing and management.
